Gmail Chrome extension won't let me log in

Hi,

 

I've just installed the Hubspot Sales Extension for Google Chrome. But I can't get it work. Here's my problem description:

  • I click on the Hubspot icon in Gmail, to the right of the search bar.
  • I am prompted to turn on the extension. I click the button entitled "Turn on".
  • A message tells me there is no Hubspot account for my email address (this is incorrect).
  • Within this message, I click on the button entitled "Log in".
  • In the browser window that opens, I choose "Sign in with Google".
  • On the next screen, I choose to sign in with the relevant Google account.
  • A message appears in a browser pop-up, entitled "Verifying your Google log in".
  • My main browser window, the one with Gmail open in it, refreshes.
  • I click on the Hubspot icon in Gmail, to the right of the search bar.
  • I am prompted to turn on the extension. I click the button entitled "Turn on".
  • And so on. Forever.

Can anyone tell me how to get out of this loop? I'd like to start logging emails in Hubspot CRM.

Were you logged into your HubSpot Sales account (in a different browser tab) while going throught the process you described above? 

 

I recommend to uninstall the extension, clear browser cache, log into your HubSpot account and then install the extension again. You'll also find a couple of other troubleshooting steps in this Knowledge base article.

Hi Mia,

 

Thank you. That worked. I had to remove an old and unused profile, to which Chrome was defaulting for some reason. But when I did that, and then followed your instructions above, the extension worked and emails sent from Gmail were logged in the CRM.
