Gmail Auto Forward Emails

Hi

I installed the hubspot chome extension & connected my gmail account,which auto bccs whenever i am sending an email.

Any replies from the contacts on the same email  chain gets logged into hubspot.

 

1) But when the same contact replies by writing a new email, it is not reflecting in Hubspot.

 

2) I tried setting up Auto Forwarding but Gmail requires a confirmation code, which i am not able to find out in hubspot.

 

I would really appreciate if anyone can guide me to a solution.

    1. New emails will not be logged, only replies to the thread. If you want to log the new emails in the CRM, you can use your forwarding address. Your forwarding address is [your Hub ID]@forward.hubspot.com. (Check out these articles: What is the difference between my BCC address and my Forwarding address? and Do email replies get recorded in the CRM?)

    1. Auto forwarding cannot be set up for gmail because it isn't possible to get the confirmation code from HubSpot. Therefore, you have to forward emails manually, to the email address I mentioned above.

Hi Taylor,

 

If I am able to set up auto-forwarding on my email account (I'm on 365 and able to do so), is there a way for HubSpot to capture those emails? It doesn't seem to work even though the emails are being directed to the correct address.

Hi @dnewberry

 

Unfortunately, auto-forwarding responses from your contacts will not work with the way the CRM accepts emails sent to the forwarding address. In order for the email to be accepted into the CRM, we need a forwarded email that embeds the original body with some additional information.
 
When you open an email in your inbox and then click forward, the body of the original email is indented and some information is added to it. We look for this new section and then get the information from there to add it to the contact's record. 
 
In order for received emails to be logged to HubSpot, this does require that the email is manually forwarded to HubSpot.
