Contacts created with Email-ID in name field instead of names with gmail sales extension
resolver
Hello,
When I send an email from Gmail with the Hubspot chrome extension enabled, there is a new contact that gets created in Hubspot but with the email address as the name of the contact.
I think this is not something that occured long ago. Before, contacts where created with name and last name. Why now new contacts name are populated with their email domain?
How do I fix this to pick up Name as name and Email ID in the respective fields?
We’re building Sellestial as a HubSpot sales assistant that helps you stay on top of every important sales conversation.
With AI, we generate fully-contextualized follow-ups for you to review and send.
Instead of relying on generic templates or spending time writing personalized follow-ups, Sellestial drafts them automatically.
We pull information from your prospect's LinkedIn profile (contact and company), LinkedIn activity, recent company news, and your conversation history in HubSpot to make every follow-up as relevant and personalized as possible.
We are not yet in the HubSpot App Marketplace, but we plan to soon.
There is no documentation on where else exactly the extension is pulling first and last name from – but could you also confirm that the contact is displaying in your inbox with a first and last name?
Best regards

Hi Karsten, we do have that setting enables but thanks for the possible solution. I think that that setting is for a user email us. In this case, the scenario is, after first meetings, sales people send a summary to all the people involved, some of them are not contacts in hubspot and sales extension push them to hubspot, but only with the email id as a name... the contact has a first and last name in most of the cases.

@JSzlain do you still have that issue? We developed our own Gmail integration and enrichment, where after creating a contact we search for the contact on LinkedIn and not only provide the First and Last name, but also the LinkedIn URL and job title according to LinkedIn (if we find a match).
Happy to catch up and discuss if something like this could help you solve the data quality issue.
