Blog: 10 Ways To Improve Your Mental Health While Attending INBOUND.

INBOUND is a fun event and a great way to network. That said, any large business event can be stressful between traveling and finding time to recharge. 

 

We want to share our INBOUND blog post about 10 ways to improve your mental health while attending INBOUND.

 

1. Get Plenty of Sleep

It's important to schedule time for sleep when you're attending any business event. If you have a regular bedtime, stick to it. You might have to miss out on some of the nightlife, but you’ll thank yourself when you’re bright-eyed and ready for the next day

 

2. Eat Healthy Foods

Be mindful of what foods you eat for your regular meals, and only treat yourself every once in a while. Eating healthy foods will help you maintain your energy levels and keep your mind sharp.

 

3. Get Some Exercise

Exercising at a business event might seem like a silly idea, but it can do wonders for your mental health if you’re feeling stressed or anxious. 

If you can't fit in a full workout, just go for a quick walk or a run outside.

 

4. Stay Hydrated

It can be challenging to remember to stay hydrated while you’re at a business event. Bring along a portable water bottle so you always have something to sip on. Drinking plenty of water will help you stay focused and avoid fatigue.

 

5. Take Breaks

When you're feeling overwhelmed, take a few minutes to yourself to relax and rejuvenate. Step outside for some fresh air, find a quiet spot to meditate or pray, or visit the “quiet room” at INBOUND and unplug from your electronics.

 

6. Stay Connected with Loved Ones:

Talking to your friends and family while you’re away can help reduce stress and make you feel more connected. Send them a text or give them a call while you’re winding down in the evening.

 

7. Avoid Drinking Too Much Alcohol

Alcohol might seem like it will help you relax or even become more sociable, but it could make your anxiety worse. If you do decide to drink, make sure you do so responsibly. B complex vitamins can be a great tool to making sure you're prepped and ready for the next day's events.

 

8. Practice Deep Breathing

You won’t always be able to step away to get some personal time or go for a walk. In those moments, practicing deep breathing might be the best way to get a little bit of relief.

Deep breathing increases the flow of oxygen to the brain and even stimulates your nervous system.

 

9. Remember Your Strengths

If you start to feel intimidated, try to remember your strengths as a person. There’s a reason you’re at the event. You’re a representative of your company, and you bring a lot of value to the table

 

10. Prepare Ahead of Time

To avoid unnecessary stress, plan ahead. Browse the agenda to decide which talks, workshops, and other events you want to attend before you travel. Leave enough time in your schedule to eat, sleep, and relax.

These tips are so on point, not just for INBOUND but for any event. I've learned the hard way that self-care during events like these is crucial. Eating well, staying hydrated, and taking breaks have made a big difference for me. Also, if you need mental help - call the hotline for mental health. Thanks for sharing these reminders!

11. HubSpot provides a prayer room! I spent some time there at multiple INBOUNDs and it's nice to get a break time in prayer.

12. Last year, I went to the chiropractor. http://www.seaportspine.com/ was able to fit me in and it was very helpful after a long train ride. 

 

*3 I use an, Seven, which is bodyweight exercise only and it's easy to do in a cramped hotel room.
