does the free hubspot plan recognise previously unsubscribed emails on subsequent mailouts... and what about rejected email addresses?

Unsubscribed and rejected emails

SOLVE

Hi @ChrisBy,

What do you mean when you say "recognise"?

In the free HubSpot email tool, contacts can partially unsubscribe (from selected subscription types) or fully. When that is the case, HubSpot will automatically prevent email sends to these contacts, even if they're on the recipient list. Information about this is stored in these properties:

  • Unsubscribed from all email: indicates that the current email address has opted out of all email from the account.
  • Opted out of email: [email type name]indicates that the current email address has opted out from emails of the specified type.

It's not possible to send emails to contacts who have unsubscribed. Users cannot simply opt them back in.

If by rejected email addresses you mean invalid ones and hard bounced ones, then yes, HubSpot also automatically excludes these email addresses once the invalidity or the hard bounce is registered. More on that here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/what-is-the-difference-between-a-hard-bounce-and-a-soft-bounce

Removing a hard bounce required a Marketing or CMS Hub Professional subscription: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/how-can-i-send-an-email-to-a-contact-that-has-previously-bounced

Thank you so much…that answers my question perfectly. We are looking to
trial this for a while prior to considering transferring from Salesforce
the full Hubspot CRM (I have recently spoken with Kathryn Hamilton from
your Sydney office about this) 😊
