Timestamp Legal Consent Applied

SOLVE

New Hubspot user.    In our former marketing system of record, we could easily track when a new contact was created, and carefully evaluate the proper legal consent given.

We have an internal policy for how long we allow this consent to continue.

And to adjudicate this, we need to be able to track the beginning timestamp of legal consent in order to them look at when the consent expires.

I cannot see any attribute within Hubspot that tracks this.

Again, in my old system, we had explicit fields for when legal consent began, and when it was projected to end.

And we would run reports monthly against these to spot contacts we should consider extending (eg: contract still valid), or remove legal cosent and potentially all contact records from our database.

How is this accomplished within Hubspot?

NOTE:  I am on the Hubspot Starter package so please keep that in mind if there are more advanced areas I do not have access to yet.

Beginning to migrate contact information over and this is an important attribute to be able to migrate and track,

Thanks in advance.

Hi @GLeeGA,

On a Starter subscription, there is unfortunately no way to automate this. This would be a manual process you'd have to repeat on a monthly basis.

First, you would create a custom date property: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/create-and-edit-properties

Then you would export the property history for 'Legal basis for processing contact's data': https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/export-property-history

Then you would have to clean up that export file and re-import it, while mapping the date column to your custom date property you created earlier: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/import-and-export/import-objects

HubSpot does not track the date automatically unfortunately and automation would require a Professional subscription.

Best regards!
