Pop-up form on click using CTA is blocked when cookies are rejected – is there a way to avoid this?

SOLVE

We're using Borlabs cookies on our website and recently, we decided to create pop-up forms on click using CTAs. The idea is that a website visitor clicks on a button saying "Download the case study", which opens a download form. So, everything is pretty simple.

However, what we haven't thought of is that if a website visitor accepts only functional cookies when opening our website, they won't be able to see the form. So, the CTA button is there, but you can click, and click, and click on it, and nothing happens; the form doesn't show up. Which, in the hindsight, is a logical thing because the Hubspot cookie is stored under marketing cookies on our website.

Now, the question is – is there any way to make the CTAs an exception to that? Say, add some script to the Hubspot tracking code that would place CTAs under functional cookies?

Hey @OAnnenko the HubSpot pop-ups are injected through the HubSpot tracking code, as this is used as the script loader. If your third party cookie blocker is blocking this, there's no way within HubSpot to force it's way through this.

You'll need to either allow-list the HubSpot tracking code, or add it as an essential script through your borlabs plugin to do this.
