GDPR consent to communicate and marketing contacts

SOLVE

GDPR is enabled and the checkbox to communicate has been added to all forms (consent checkbox for communications, form submit as consent to process). 

 

It seems to make sense to toggle OFF the "Set contacts created as marketing contacts" on the forms as we won't be able to email them unless they have checked the consent checkbox for communications. 

 

I am struggling with creating a workflow that would have as the trigger: contacts that have filled out a form and checked the consent checkbox for communications and as the action: change the property value to make them marketing contact. 

 

Does anyone have an example of a similar workflow or if that's not doable, how have you been managing GDPR consent and marketing contact?

Hi @DasprezK,

 

The consent to communicate is stored under "Subscriptions", not under "Contact properties", when you set up workflow enrollment triggers. Before clicking into "Contact properties" as you would typically do, scroll down the list until you see "Subscriptions". In there, you can find the one that corresponds to the checkbox in your form.

SOLVE

@karstenkoehler can you give more details on how to find the Consent to Communicate subscription? It appears that the triggers are all related to monetary, recurring subscriptions.
