Consent Management banner's accessibility problems

We, as Funka Nu AB, are experts in digital accessibility. Here is a list of our quick findings of HubSpot's cookie banner (CMP):

Many of these are WCAG violations.

  1. The banner is placed first in code but visually at the bottom of the page. Therefore, the tab order isn't correct.
  2. The banner is covering content in the footer if you scroll to the bottom.
  3. There are no headings in the banner.
  4. Text lines should not display more than max 70 characters per line including spaces. The cookie banner has around 170.
  5. There is no landmark for the banner.
  6. The buttons are coded as links but has the button role which is something we don't recommend.
  7. The closing button in the modal can't be reached with the keyboard. It's coded as a span.
  8. Links in the modal are conveyed only through color.
  9. The checkboxes/switches are designed so that it is difficult to understand what is
    on and off.
