I mostly focused on sending emails to people who were most active with our other social media platforms.

In ecommerce, I've used segments that include site visitors who were actie on the site or who have engaged in an email in the last few days but haven't made a purchase.

In demographic segmentation, the email list based on factors such as age, gender, income level, and location, I can tailor my messaging to better resonate with each subgroup.

While I don't have access to specific data or analytics on segments that have led to greater engagement, I can provide you with some general examples of strategies that have been known to increase engagement in various contexts:

1. Personalization: Tailoring content and messaging to individual users based on their preferences, demographics, or past behavior can enhance engagement. Personalized recommendations, product suggestions, or targeted marketing campaigns often lead to higher response rates.

2. Interactive Content: Creating interactive experiences such as quizzes, polls, surveys, contests, or interactive videos can significantly boost engagement. People enjoy participating actively and sharing their opinions or competing with others.

3. User-Generated Content: Encouraging users to generate and share their own content related to your brand or product can foster a sense of community and increase engagement. This can include user reviews, testimonials, social media challenges, or sharing user-generated stories or photos.

4. Gamification: Incorporating elements of gaming, such as points, badges, leaderboards, or rewards, into non-gaming contexts can make interactions more enjoyable and engaging. Gamification can be applied to various activities, including learning platforms, fitness apps, or loyalty programs.

5. Social Sharing and Virality: Building features that facilitate easy sharing of content across social media platforms can help increase engagement. Creating shareable and viral content that resonates with your target audience can lead to wider reach and increased engagement.

6. Personalized Communication: Using personalized communication channels such as email marketing, chatbots, or messaging apps to deliver relevant and timely messages can improve engagement. Automated follow-ups, personalized recommendations, or tailored notifications can enhance the user experience.

7. Influencer Marketing: Collaborating with influencers or industry experts who have a strong following and credibility can help increase engagement. Their endorsement or involvement in your brand or campaign can attract their audience and generate higher engagement.

Remember, the effectiveness of these strategies can vary depending on the specific context, target audience, and industry. It's essential to analyze and track metrics to determine which segments or strategies work best for your particular goals and audience.

I have divided our travel club members into segments of those who have never used their travel benefits, those who have traveled no more than 3 times and those who have traveled multiple times.  We continued to break these three segments into segment that showed where they traveled to and how many times a year they traveled.

Well, I just started my position with the company, but I anticipate segmenting based on company size, Industry, and engagement with emails and webinars.
