Lead nurturing is the process of building relationships with your prospects with the goal of earning their business when they’re ready. But remember, marketing automation isn’t a “set it and forget it” shortcut to more revenue. It’s an opportunity to scale the way you communicate with your potential customers, as long as you send emails that add value, not ask for it.

Keeping this in mind, what's an effective example of marketing automation in action? This can be an email series you've created or an email series that you've experienced from a company you engage with.

Here is one example of a lead generation campaign,

It will comprise a series of emails set on specific triggers which would be,

  • Welcome Email: Once prospects show interest in their products/services, they'll receive a personalized welcome email. This email sets the tone for the relationship, introduces the brand, and provides relevant resources to help prospects get started.

  • Educational Emails: Over the next few weeks, prospects will receive a series of educational emails that provide valuable insights, tips, and industry trends related to their interests. These emails are designed to position the brand as a thought leader in the industry and establish trust with prospects.

  • Offer Emails: As prospects engage with the content and show further interest, they may receive exclusive offers and promotions tailored to their needs. These emails are designed to incentivize prospects to take action and make a purchase.

  • Re-engagement Emails: If prospects haven't interacted with the emails for a while, they may receive re-engagement emails to reignite their interest. These emails may include special discounts, limited-time offers, or personalized recommendations based on their previous interactions.

  • Thank You Emails: After making a purchase, prospects will receive a thank you email that expresses the brand's appreciation and provides additional resources to help them make the most out of their purchase. This email also sets the stage for future upsell or cross-sell opportunities.

This way a lead nurturing campaign can be designed, keeping in mind the customer journey and their expectations.

An example of a lead nurturing campaign is a duolingo campaign that provides you progress stats, additional resources, reminds you take a lesson and sends 'I miss you ' emails if you have not visited duolingo in a while

An effective marketing automation in action is behavioral email.

A good example is sending emails that establish trust, emails that establish additional downloads and resources, emails that include call to action and breakup emails.

Send a welcome email, educational email, case study email, personalized email, offer email, follow-up email, and break-up email to build relationships, demonstrate value, and ultimately convert leads into clients. The goal is to give value to them so you can build trust and a relationship with them.

perhaps engage in an e-mail campaign designed around current customers that asks them what their new prefererences are.

I think that a good example is a webinar.

1- First you sign up for the webinar.

2- You get more information about the topic to be discussed e.g. blog articles, videos etc.

3- Remainder of the webinar date.

4- Thank you email after the webinar.

5- Promote other webinar that has similar topics.
