Lead nurturing is the process of building relationships with your prospects with the goal of earning their business when they’re ready. But remember, marketing automation isn’t a “set it and forget it” shortcut to more revenue. It’s an opportunity to scale the way you communicate with your potential customers, as long as you send emails that add value, not ask for it.

 

Keeping this in mind, what's an effective example of marketing automation in action? This can be an email series you've created or an email series that you've experienced from a company you engage with.

Well, the email series depends on where the customer is in the buyer's lifecycle. If a customer just subscribed to your newsletter, a series of emails, from a welcome email, can be delivered to engage the customer.

Sending a personalized email sending the right message to the right person at the right time.  Never forgetting to include CTA.

Lead nurturing is an automated yet hands-on marketing tool that can keep your contacts growing in interest and engagement with time. An example of this would be if there is a contact that has recently looked at my website for a new security solution. The beginning would be to introduce yourself in a timely and effective manner so that you don't miss that crucial opening window to send your first email of introduction and trust-building. Second, after you have gained consent, you can start sending targeted emails and test that lead's interest and analyze their engagement. Once you have gaged what they found most valuable, for example, a manned security camera system, you can send your CTA email and have them schedule a meeting with you or direct them to that information on your website. 

 

Lastly, it is important to be aware of where your contact might be in the buyer journey and when it is a good time to "break up" with them; don't worry, it is as heartbreaking as personal relationships!
