Happy Friday, fellow marketers! 👋 My name is Rea (pronounced Ray), Marketing Director in the Insurance Industry.
There are three things that make a memorable email - Relevance, Reward, and Request.
Relevance includes personalization beyond a name and - at minimum - proof the sender has spent at least a couple minutes researching my company and me.
Reward means I need a dopamine hit. Could be a relevant resource, a personalized video, solving a problem for me, etc.
Requests are tricky. Shooting a calendar link and saying "does it make sense?" isn't memorable. Being playful with that request is. We've been taught sales and marketing are kinda like dating. You have to get to know your prospect. Playing on that idea for a CTA, or asking me to respond to the email instead of scheduling time are quite memorable to me.
Now, for the final question: I'm hoping to master fundamental practices within Hubspot that will help me more effectively guide my team, and help them think in a critically creative way to excel in their roles.
Excited to learn more about each of you, and master this course together!

Hey All, good to be part of the group.
Current role: freelance corporate copywriter (20+ years) and founder of new venture Investor Awareness Labs (helping publicly traded resource and tech companies get in front of potential retail investors)
Industry: Investor-focused content development and distribution.
What makes a memorable email: First, it talks about what the reader values. Second, it is written well, easy to read, and uses the voice and language of the audience. Third, it only contains what's necessary. Finally, it tells the reader what the next step is toward their desired outcome.
What I'm hoping to get out of this group: Receive and provide help in our mutual goal of developing email marketing skills.

Hello to All!
I received my degree in Travel & Tourism in 1987, owned a Travel Agency until 2001, and now I am a Tour Operator. I plan and escort small groups all around the world since 2014, with an emphasis on "getting our hands dirty and getting to know local folks ". I joined Hubspot at the recommendation of a friend, so it is my hope this will make it easier to communicate with my 4000 clients. Any suggestionswilll be greatly appreciated.
