Hi there, I'm Austin, a penetration tester with a keen interest in digital automation, including email marketing, and tech business development. As part of a larger objective to create significant online services, I'm extending my expertise in fields like audience segmentation, lead nurturing, and automated campaigns.

Although I work in the tech and cybersecurity industry, I'm actively using what I've learned to both personal and professional projects, such as creating automated processes and investigating email campaign tactics that genuinely increase engagement.

For me, a memorable email is:

Short, clear, and visually clean Includes a strong hook and personal tone Offers real value (a tip, a story, a tool)

Because people don’t want more emails — they want more usefulness.

I'm here to:

Gain knowledge of useful tactics that are effective in actual campaigns

Exchange perspectives on automation and tools (Zapier, n8n, Make)

Make connections with other email marketers who share my interests and collaborate.

Hi @Roz1 ,

Welcome to the HubSpot Community and to the exciting world of email marketing!

  1. Understand Email Deliverability Early On
  • Set up your email sending domain (like DKIM, SPF, and DMARC records). This builds trust with email providers like Gmail or Outlook.
  • HubSpot has great guides and tools to walk you through this if you're using a connected domain.
  1. Clean Your Contact Lists Regularly
  • One of the easiest ways to damage your sender reputation is by emailing inactive or junk contacts.
  • Remove bounced emails, unsubscribes, or unengaged contacts.

  • Tools like HubSpot’s list cleaning & segmentation can help maintain a healthy database.
  1. Focus on Engagement-Based Segmentation
  • Instead of one-size-fits-all emails, try grouping contacts based on their behavior: opens, clicks, page visits, or lifecycle stage.
  1. Always Be Testing
  • Test subject lines, email content, CTA placements, or even send times.
  • HubSpot makes A/B testing easy with their Professional and Enterprise tiers.
  1. Start Building Smart Automations
  • Use workflows to nurture leads, welcome new subscribers, or re-engage cold ones.
  • You’ll soon realize how powerful automation is for saving time and scaling effectively.
  1. Keep Learning
  1. Watch Your Metrics
  • Pay attention to click-through rate (CTR), bounce rate, spam complaints, and unsubscribes. They all tell a story.
Eventually, consider setting up lead scoring based on email interactions.

    Hope this helps. Thanks!

    Best,
    Deepti Sharama
