Marketing Email Capabilites - Need Help setting up

Brand new to Hubspot.  Using the free CRM services.  I want to have the ability to email a group of contacts in my database but am having trouble figuring how to set this up.  I tried to set this up but received this message:

Sorry. The email dashboard is only accessible to the Marketer role.

Please contact your portal administrator about changing your user role.

I am the only one using this CRM and it looks like I am set up as the administrator for both the sales and marketing roles...but keep getting this message.    Sorry this is probably a pretty dumb question but cant see to get past it.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure you can group email on a free account; thought I read that you can only email one person at a time. But I'm new as well so may be blind leading blind...

It can get confusing. 

The free sales suite of tools lets you track emails that you send to individuals through you main mailbox. This limited to one at a time and has to go via your email provider (even when sent 'in' the CRM). 

This is different from the bulk email marketing tool in the marketing product.

Unfortunatly, email marketing services are not included in the free CRM from HubSpot. To send marketing emails from the system you need at least their Basic Marketing Product. You can see the features of the marketing product here: https://www.hubspot.com/pricing/marketing#?currency=GBP
