An internal email notification lets you compose a simple email, with limited formatting, right the action settings of the workflow. These can be sent to HubSpot users only, but don't show up in your marketing email performance data.
On the other hand, an internal marketing email lets you send an email using any template, simple or rich, in your HubSpot portal. These can be sent to non-HubSpot-user contacts if required but do show up in marketing email data.
