I am trying to send a newsletter, and I get the following warning:
“Required fields and warnings - Warnings: A default value for the token contact.url_personalizado is required.”
The chatbot tried to help me, but suggested 2 solutions that didn’t work.
“you need to provide a default value for the contact.url_personalizado token” When I follow the instructions to go to the specific email where I’m using the personalization token, the contact.url_personalizado token is part of a URL Link that I added to a button. This only allows me to edit the Link to; the Link URL and the Button text. There is nothing else I can edit, so I can not set up a default value for the token.
“If you can't directly set a default value for the token within the button's URL, as a workaround, you can set a global default value for the url_personalizado property in your account settings.” I can not set a global default value for a personalization token because when I go to Settings - Properties and I Search for the “url_personalizado” property, I click on the property to edit it and I can not set a global default value for this property. The only settings I can edit are Basic info (Group and Description); Field type; Rules; Used in.
It sounds like you're having a tough time setting a default value for the `contact.url_personalizado` token in your HubSpot newsletter. Since the usual methods aren’t working, here’s a different approach you can try:
Instead of directly using the `contact.url_personalizado` token in the button, you can create a new property in HubSpot to hold the URL you want. Populate this new property with a default value for all your contacts, so even if the original token is empty, the button will still link to a fallback URL.
Next, update your button’s link in the email editor to use this new property instead of the original token. This way, there’s always a URL in place, ensuring your button functions properly, even if the specific token is empty for some contacts.
If this still doesn’t fix the issue, it might be something more specific to HubSpot’s setup. In that case, reaching out to HubSpot support might be your best bet. They can provide a more tailored solution or help resolve any potential bugs.
Hopefully, this workaround helps you get your newsletter out without any more hiccups!
