connect the form submission with contact

SOLVE

Hello everyone,

i have some questions about form:

1. if  create a form without email, can this form submission connected to the speicific contact?

2. i create another property to record this times email, so the contact have 2 email property. one is the email provided by HS, one is the email 2 created by me. in the form i use the email 2 only,

  • can email 2 conneted to the right contact?
  • and if a form submission didn't associated to a contact, how can i create it and associated this contact to this form submission?

Hi @Jaylin,

 

No, you will have to place the default Email field on the form for HubSpot to be able to associate the submission with an existing contact record.

 

Unique values are currently not supported in forms, unfortunately, see here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/deduplication-of-records#deduplicate-records-by-custom-unique-...

 


Unique values are not currently supported in forms. If your goal is to update or associate existing records via form submissions, it's recommended to use the default deduplication properties instead (i.e. Email, Company domain name, Record ID).

There are however product updates queued up for property validation in forms so we might see this in the upcoming months: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Developer-Announcements/Phase-1-of-2-for-CRM-Property-Validation-on...
