Today's Date Incorrect Date

Dear all,

 

I created Today's Date property to use in my marketing emails however the custom property does not show the correct data in the emails. Could you please check and help?

I think I found the issue, the reason was the delay settings issue in the todays date workflow.

Hi @SSumen 

 

So it's a date property that you called "today's date". How is that date (value for that property) being set - manually, via a workflow? Creating the property creates a "placeholder" that needs to be given a value. So how is today's date being set for each contact?

 

How are you sending that email? As a one-off or automated email. You can set property values via workflows, so assuming you have an enrolment criteria for the recipients of this email, you could simple set the value of the "today's date" property to today's date.

It is not in a workflow it is in the email to show today's date when we send the email to our contacts. I'm using workflow to send this email.

Can you share a screenshot of the workflow please?

Also, when you say the date is wrong, is it showing the wrong date or nothing at all?

 

Finally, can you share screenshots of the following:

  • On the property overview, the basics tab
  • On the property overview, the "used in" tab

Could you maybe share a screenshot of the property and it's settings, the email, etc. Otherwise it'll be a bit hard to check and assist with this query.

 

Also, just for context - what are you using the "today's date" property for in the email?
