Shorting token file property url

SOLVE

Hi @fcojavierpoveda,

The files tool does not have a built-in link shortener. If you have a Marketing or CMS Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription, you can use the HubSpot tracking URL builder, it will create a short URL, too: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/settings/how-do-i-create-a-tracking-url

Without such a subscription, you could use any of the free link shorteners.

Also, wherever you use the file links, you can always add them as a hyperlink to a word rather than spell them out.

Best regards!

Following up on this thread - Rebrandly is in the process of launching a new integration with HubSpot and with it, you can import your files and generate short URLs. Right now my instructions focus mainly on the use case of creating social media posts, but you can also use it to bulk create short URLs for website pages, files, blog posts, and landing pages. Here are the instructions to install it if you'd like to give it a try!

  • First, go to Rebrandly.com and set up an account - note the free account is limited to 25 links / month and our entry-level pricing is affordable if you need to scale: https://oauth.rebrandly.com/signup

With our free tier, you are allowed to have one custom domain and it's easy to set up a new branded domain or configure an existing domain to be the base URL for your branded links.

  • Next, go to our Marketplace listing for the Hubspot integration and click "Download" -  https://rebrandly.com/integrations/hubspot
    • The process will walk you through authorizing your Hubspot account and then you will be ready to go!

You can now use Rebrandly to create short branded links and post to your social channels directly through our interface using the Hubspot connector. I love this because I was so frustrated by Hubspot shortening our links and causing them to look generic on our social channels, but I wanted to be able to track the social posts in Hubspot.

This is a new integration, so if you try it out and have feedback, please reach out. Thank you!

Hi @fcojavierpoveda, did you ever figure this out? It seems the accepted solution is regarding the files tool when you actually want to shorten a URL in a HubSpot property. There seems to be an accepted solution here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Email-Marketing-Tool/How-to-use-URL-from-HubSpot-Field-in-Marketing...
