If I were to be invited to the client's account would I lose the emails I've already built? And vice-versa?
You don't lose them, they stay in your own portal, where you created them. They will not show up in the portal of the client. HubSpot portals are not connected.
As a service provider that is preparing `template` for a client, how do I get them the work that I've done in my account using the drag and drop tools so that they can use it either as a `template` or as a base email to clone or duplicate on THEIR account?
HubSpot does not have any features for that, unfortunately. You will have to create these assets in the portals of your clients. There aren't any native functionalities to share marketing email templates between portals.

Let me ask a more straight-forward question that I hope can be answered easily. As a service provider that is preparing `template` for a client, how do I get them the work that I've done in my account using the drag and drop tools so that they can use it either as a `template` or as a base email to clone or duplicate on THEIR account?

It is somewhat helpful, but I am not yet on a paid plan. I don't mind paying for it as a service provider, however I have some questions.
Since I plan on developing templates and sharing them with clients as tools they use without further support, would I be able to use either method 2 or 3 with users outside of my account whether or not they have a paid account?
Additionally, option 1 doesn't seem to work. Am I to believe option 1 only works with paid plans too?
@JUmar generally, you can only share email templates with users in your HubSpot portal. There is no way to share a template with people who are not users in your HubSpot portal / account.
Option 1 works across all plans, free or paid. What makes you think it doesn't? Again, this requires everyone who wants to access the link to be a user in your HubSpot account.

I had test by creating another free account and done the copy/paste. However, your description is a little more clear now that I have to add them as a user to my account.
After testing it that way, it did work, and now have more questions!
