We send marketing emails from contact owners, with the contact owner's email address set as the reply to. If there is no contact owner associated with the contact, I'm assuming that there is a default from/reply to address, but I can't find this info anywhere. I'm sure I'm just not looking in the right place. Could someone help me out with this?

You can set the default under Settings > Marketing > Email > Configuration > Personalization > Contact property defaults:

Do you know if there is a setting to differentiate by Business Unit?  Or is it one default owner across all of Hubspot?  I assume it is the latter, but thought I would ask.

Hi @JGood,

I hope that you are well!

Thank you so much @danmoyle for your help! You are right 🙂

You cannot edit the native property Business Units directly in the tool.

However, I checked for you and from @Zali's post here: "Can't update/set a contact's business unit property via Hubspot API?", it seems that via API you can update the Business Unit of properties.

As far as custom properties are concerned, you can see in this article that "you can associate custom contact properties with a business unit".

@JGood from what I can tell here and what I've seen in practice, properties are not something you can assign to business units. If someone else has seen a different experience, I'd be happy to be wrong lol. But I don't think HubSpot operates that way.

Great question! First, I'd like to share this article "Associate your assets with business units" for information.

I understand that you'd like to have a default value for the "contact owner" property per business unit, right?

I want to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation @danmoyle, @louischausse and @Bryantworks, do you have suggestions to help @JGood with this, please.

Also, @EbarakHossain, @katherineladue and @mikey1 do you still use Business Units? If yes, do you have suggestions on this, please?
