Removing an extra bullet point that appears in a marketing email in Outlook

HubSpot Employee

There is a known issue with some versions of Outlook displaying an extra bullet point when an unordered list is the last element in a content module that also contains a left-aligned image.

This issue can be resolved by adding another element in the source code of the email body module so the unordered list is not the last element:  <div style="display:none;">&nbsp;</div>

To add this line of code, you'll need to access the source code of your main email body module at the end of your unordered list:

  • In your HubSpot Marketing Hub BasicProfessional, or Enterprise account, navigate to Content > Email.
  • Click the name of the email in the dashboard to edit.
  • Click into the content module, then click the source code icon code in the rich text toolbar.
  • In the dialog box that appears, edit the source code accordingly, then click Save changes.

Is there a fix for this issue in the drag & drop editor?  I've just started experiencing it in the last couple of weeks for the first time, been using the drag & drop editor for over a year without this issue until recently.
