Preview text Considered Too Long with Personalization Tokens

In the Marketing Email Tools "Preview Text" I noticed when using Personalization Tokens it counts each letter of the "Personalization Code EX= {{ personalization_token("contact.firstname", "today") }}" making the text go over the character limit.  Personalization codes should not equate towards the character limit.
