Using the 'plain email' template and discovered that it renders with no padding in apple mail (and some ios). I can manually add padding to counter this, but where the email renders okay on every other client, it looks like it has too much padding (because it now does). SO, how can i ensure plain emails render properly in apple mail (20% of our audience). Is there a media query that can detect apple mail and only then add 20px padding?

I would have to see what your code is, but maybe using maximum width 80% and margin 0 auto, instead of using padding will be more consistent across platforms.
