Marketing Emails/Subscription Preferences with Business Units

RenewDigital

We just upgraded to enterprise to take advantage of using individual business units. I cannot figure out how to assign Marketing emails to business units or create a subscription preferences page for each business unit. In the knowledge base videos, there seems to be a marketing beta tab for business units that I'm missing. Anyone have any other ideas where I might be missing something?

@RenewDigital Every time I've implemented Business Units I've had to reach out to the account's CSM and ask them to turn on ALL the BU features. I have no idea why the functionality wouldn't simply work once you purchase the add-on! Because you are correct, there should be a Marketing Beta tab when you navigate to Settings > Business Units:

Your Settings > Marketing > Email > Subscription Types should also have the option to toggle between Business Units under the Current View dropdown:

Talked with support - I originally tried following the article you posted
when I was setting up everything but got stuck when I did not have the
option to assign emails to business units during email creation. The issue
was that we haven't been given access to the Marketing Beta for business
units, so I didn't have the functionality outlined in the knowledge
article. Hopefully they'll get me signed up for teh beta and that will take
care of it. Thanks for the reply:)

I see how we set up the emails, but as far as I can tell, all business units have to use the same preferences pages, which will not work for us. We have two separate businesses we need to create preferences pages for. Has anyone else run into this and figured out a solution?

Just to add to this, we're experiencing the same.

The HubSpot default subscription types "One-to-one" and "Support feedback" is associated to the account brand, which means all contacts needs to be subscribed to these types on that brand even though they might only be associated to one of the other brands.

We really need a solution for this, potential solution would be if those default subscription types could be cloned to all brands, that would solve it for us.

Hi @Oeyaas, @ekpierce, I hope that you are well!

Thanks for reaching out to the HubSpot Community.

I understand that you'd like to know if there is a way to manage or customize the default HubSpot subscription types so they are brand- or business-unit-specific. Please let me know if that's not the case.

So, HubSpot’s Business Units feature should simplify this by allowing you to manage email subscriptions and preferences on a unit-by-unit basis.
This ensures that your audience receives relevant content according to their specific interests and avoids the clutter of irrelevant emails.

I can see on this article "Email subscriptions" that you can customize a unique resubscription email for each of your Brands, and manage subscription types and statuses per Brand.

Is that what you are looking for, please?

If it's not, can you please share more details into where is the actual roadblock so that we can look at it together.

Also, I'd love to hear from our Top Exprts: Hi @Lucila-Andimol and @karstenkoehler do you have any insights to share with @Oeyaas and @ekpierce, please?

Have a great day and thanks so much!

Thank you for your reply, @BérangèreL.

So the resubscription e-mail won't fix it.

So the problem is as I said the "One-to-one" and "Support feedback" default subscription types. They are only available on Brand 1, while we have 3 brands in total.

I'll try and explain it through an example, If a customer of "Brand 2" wants to receive support from our support team they must subscribe to "One-to-one" subscription type so that the support don't need to give a one-time consent each time they create an email and if we want to send them a feedback survey after we have resolved the ticket they need to be subscribed to "Support feedback".

Problem is that these two default subscription types are only visible on the preference page of Brand 1. And of course the preference page of Brand 1 has different branding than Brand 2.

We are able (I think), to keep the contact away from the preference page from Brand 1 with removing the "Receive fewer emails from me?" link that gets added to one-to-one emails. And when we send a marketing email from Brand 2 the correct brand is displayed.

The issue is that if a contact wants to be removed from all subscription types they are subscribed to, they could potentially get to the Brand 1 prefence page.

And we really want to keep the brands separate and it therefor would be good if they could subscribe to default subscription type on all 3 brands, so there is a one-to-one type on Brand 2 and 3 also.

Hope this makes sense and thanks for your engagement.

Hi @Oeyaas and thank you for detailing your use case with default subscription types across multiple brands.

At this time, customizing these default types per brand isn’t available.

For new feature suggestions, I'd recommend first to search and check if this idea is already present on our Ideas Forum here. If you find a similar idea, give it an upvote and share your unique use case in the comments.
