Q: Is it possible to import email templates from MailChimp?

Short A: Anything's possible. (not recommended)

Longer A:

If you're a developer, anything's possible. So, sure, take raw HTML from wherever and force it to work wherever (right now) as long as you're willing to settle for whatever ...

That being said, MailChimp HTML templates are specifically designed for use on their platform. While sometimes you can strip all the MailChimp code from a template to make it 'appear' to be good on HubSpot, the results are typically low quality. Low quality is defined as ...

- Is hard coded HTML, so you typically can't update anything using the HubSpot drag-n-drop editor (hardly ever a good idea)

This is a HUGELY important point and the #1 reason customers get ripped off around these offerings. You work with someone to port your MailChimp template over to HubSpot with all of your content only to learn later that you can't reuse this so-called 'template' unless you hire them again. Not good. 😞

- Doesn't render well across popular email clients

Just as important as the ability to reuse templates (the purpose for which the concept was originally created) is the templates ability to render resulting email responsively across popular email clients. Not much worse than being excited about sending your new email only to learn that you blew your one shot to engage those contacts because a large portion of your audience had a bad user experience with your email (too much 'zoom-zoom' or 'swiptey-swipe') or simply couldn't see some of it at all. 😞

Save yourself a headache and ...

- Build your email template using HubSpot's new Design Manager.

- Download one of the MANY free or paid v2 email templates from the HubSpot Marketplace (Marketing -> Files and Templates -> Template Marketplace on your HubSpot menu).

- Hire a qualified HubSpot developer to custom code one for you.

You'll find some excellent designers and developers over in the HubSpot Design section of this community -- aka: 'The Happy Place'. 🙂

Note: Please search for recent posts as HubSpot evolves to be the #1 CRM platform of choice world-wide.

Hope that helps.

Be well,
Frank

You've made an assumption that the OP is using a Mailchimp supplied template.

Let's assume the OP has a custom HTML template, fully tested in Litmus with all Mailchimp tags stripped out, the answer is yes you can import (manually) but only if you pay for the much higher priced Hubspot plans (Professional or higher).

But, you'll need an email developer to add a few Hubspot specific tags if you want to be able to edit it in the Hubspot manager.
