I've recently discovered that Hubspot is not tracking links within VML commonly used to create bulletproof buttons for Outlook. When I create a button I use a combination of VML and HTML to accomodate Outlook users so they experience (roughly) the same design as other email clients. But Hubspot is not converting the link to their standard tracking format and is, instead, sending the receipt directly to the link I provide, which is not giving us a true representation of clicks within our reporting.
Has anyone else experienced this issue when working with VML-based buttons and have any alternate solutions?
Thanks @BérangèreL - I reviewed the post you sent me and it appears to be the same issue, but it doesn't offer a solution. Instead it suggests that Hubspot doesn't replace URLs within VML objects with the appropriate URL to track clicks within our emails. Can someone else confirm that and, if this is the case, how can I suggest to the Hubspot dev team that this is something that's needed?
We use VML to create a consistent look across our email designs and, while it's not perfect by any means, it does get the job done until Microsoft decides to make Outlook compliant with HTML standards.
