How can I edit the URL of the web version of an email I have already sent?

Hi!

I created and sent out an email with a web version.

The URL of the web version was generated from the title, as in: http://6563474.hs-sites.com/summer-greetings-we-are-open-for-sign-ups

Then I noticed that the URL convention was different from emails we've sent earlier.

So I tried to change the URL of the web version to:

http://6563474.hs-sites.com/rain-newsletter-2021-07-19

However, neither of those URLs work now.

I’d love to get some advice on this. 🙂

Best,

Jos

Hi @JoRa,

Thanks for the added context, I've updated my first post accordingly.

It's hard to say what exactly is happening, unfortunately, without knowing the minute changes that you made and without being able to explore right in your portal. I'd recommend checking with HubSpot support on this one. With your subscription, you should be able to reach out via email: https://help.hubspot.com/

Hi @JoRa,

If you're referring to a regular email (not an automated one), the web version of an email can be edited through the Actions dropdown:

Thank you for you reply, Karsten.

It was a regular email, yes. You say the web version cannot be edited after sending, but somehow I managed to mess it up, because currently neither the original URL (http://6563474.hs-sites.com/summer-greetings-we-are-open-for-sign-ups) nor the one I tried to edit it to (http://6563474.hs-sites.com/rain-newsletter-2021-07-19) render the newsletter. "This page isn't available".

The best solution in the current situation, it seems to me, would be to have the web version of the newsletter reside at http://6563474.hs-sites.com/rain-newsletter-2021-07-19 (to be consistent with our other newsletters), with a redirect from http://6563474.hs-sites.com/summer-greetings-we-are-open-for-sign-ups (because that link was included in the newsletter we sent out).
