Email Subscription Enrollment

I set up my subscription types for my email marketing with the understanding that everyone is subscribed until they decide they would not like to.

But I am now realizing that most contact records I am viewing show no active subscriptions under their contact card.

How can I fix this in mass? For now, I have active lists (segments) that I use when sending emails to filer out people who did unsubscribe from that particular sub type, but this seems to be a back up plan in case their subscription type is not correct in the contact record.

 Any help?
