I'm working on building some email templates but had a couple of questions when using images:
are there any resources available for imaze size guidlines? (ex. dimensions for header/footer/etc.) Most of what I read seems specific to websites but this is only for email.
I want to use background images for email but notice that the email still shows visible line breaks for each section. Is this something we can work around so the lines aren't as distinct, would it be a size issue or a design issue? (attached a screenshot for reference)
Images still tend to be about 600px in width. While there are more you can do with some clients, there are some like Outlook that have kept email as far back as it is today compared to web design. For optimal experience you should try to compress the images as much as possible to allow them to load quicker as you won't have control over the network that someone is viewing them on.
Background images are tough. Campaign Monitor keeps a pretty good reference of all code that is compatible with different email clients. https://www.campaignmonitor.com/css/ . Based on your image it appears that the images are not in alignment probably due to image resolution. We would be able to better assess the situation if you could provide a link to the emails online. In order to do this you would need to provide the "view in browser" link from a test email as preview links in Hubspot require access whereas the view in browser does not.
