Creating a list based on number of emails opened

SOLVE

I want to create an active list so that if a contact continuously opens the last 10 emails from me, they will be enrolled in the list.

Is there a way to do this?

Creating a list based on number of emails opened

SOLVE

Hi @TBenedek,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

As I understand, you would like to obtain a list of users who have opened more than 5 marketing emails across all sent emails. In that case, the filter you can use is 'Marketing email opens is greater than 5.' Since no other filters are being applied, the system will consider all emails sent to each individual and will show you the individuals who have opened more than 5 of the emails they received.

If this is not exactly what you're looking for, could you please provide more details about your objective? Also, if you'd like to share any examples or screenshots of what you've tried, that would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Diana

But if you want to make an active list based on the amount of marketing emails openend. Let's say, >5 opened in all marketing e-mails.

That is not possible? @karstenkoehler

Hi @CKShreekrithi,

For sales emails, this is unfortunately only possible through a workaround using a custom number property and the 'Increase property value' action in workflows.

For marketing emails, HubSpot maintains this contact property which you can use in lists:

Marketing emails opened: the number of marketing emails opened. Please note that this value is incremented at most once per email; if the same email is opened multiple times, this value will only increase by one.

Simply look it up under 'Contact properties' and specify in the filter that you would like the list to return contacts where this number is greater than X.

Best regards!

But this will be overall opens right?

What if I want to know if they opened the last 10 emails I sent them? The contact could be in the CRM for a long time, but I want to know if they've opened the 10 most recent emails in a row.

@CKShreekrithi ah, understood. In that case, you can use this property:

Sends since last engagement: the number of marketing emails that have been sent since the last engagement, specifically email open or link click.

But wouldn't "sends since last engagement" be 0 for newly enrolled contacts?

How would I know if the person has even received 10 emails since?

For example, this property would be 0 for a person who has been opening my emails continuously, and they could've received 25 emails from me overall.

But it would be 0 for someone who fills out a form and enters the CRM, too. Unless my understanding of how this property is wrong.
