Connect email contact to a form submission from the email

Hi,

I am creating an email with a link that takes to our website with an embedded form. I want that the form doesn't ask for email address again but I want the submission to be connected to the same email address that received the original email. Is there a way for hubspot to pass this information to the resulting form?

Hi @umair,

Yes, you can pass on contact information through to a landing page by following this syntax:

www.company.com/landing-page?email={{ contact.email }}

{{ contact.email }} is the spelled out syntax for a personalization token. By appending ?email= to a URL in your email, the browser will attempt for fill a form field with the internal label email with whatever comes after, in that case the personalization token.

Doesn't seem to work with links in a CTA.. I added the query-string to my CTA's URL

Not with CTAs created in the CTA tool, no, but with the CTA element directly within the email drag and drop editor.

Thank you very much. This works. Didn't realize I could do the drag/drop now.

Just don't understand why am I restricted to 4 columns only, I need to fit in 10 buttons next to each other :(.

Hello Karsten,

im trying the same passing the email adress to our website (not done with hubspot but with wix) to an embedded form on one of our pages. Link is correct in the marketing email but email adress does not show up in form field.

any ideas?
