Changes made in e-mail after approval - re-approve

SOLVE

We are currently experimenting with the approval flow for marketing e-mail. While testing i noticed it is possible to make changes to the aprroved e-mail, and then send the e-mail. I would expect the e-mail have to be resubmitted for aprroval since ciritcal changes could have been made.

Is there a possiblity to block the sending, when changes are made after approval?

Agreed, @TEFL @RMcCarthy @Bob_Marley.

@PamCotton, this thread refers to this (sub-)feature: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/request-approval-to-send-a-marketing-email#rss-and-blog-subscrip...

Since this thread is already going, is there any chance you could include the product manager? 🙂

Hi All, thank you for your comments. Can you please confirm that you are specifically talking about regular or batch send emails (not automated)? If so it sounds like many of you would expect to make considerable changes to these emails after the first approval?

Hi @Shane_Janssens,

For me as an admin of many portals, it's both. In environments where CI compliance is a high priority, changes to an already approved asset (regular email or automated email alike) should block the asset from being publishable – and require another approval.

Thanks for asking!

Okay, thank you for clarifying @karstenkoehler I'll bring this back to the teams and review and report back when i have more to share. Just to clarify, it is not planned right now so unlikely to make it in the next quarter.

Hi @Shane_Janssens

I agree with @karstenkoehler . I don't really think the size of the change matters, small or considerable, it should require another approval. A mail should only be send out if the final version is approved.

Requesting an update on this too. I created an email and sent it for approval. The email was approved, and the email simply comes back to me with the 'send' button functional, and 'Request Approval' button is gone. Yet, the editor is still fully functional.

It seems strange that after changes have been made following the approval, that the editor doesn't require further approval. Defeats the whole purpose of the approval feature if I'm being direct.

Hi all, Any update on this? We noticed this as well and found it very odd someone could make additional changes after the approval, without submitting for aproval a second time

Hello @TEFL thank you for posting in our Community.

Are you referring to a workflow being set up? Would you be able to provide us with more information on where the changes were made after the approval?  The more information, screenshots, and details you can provide, the better I can advise on the next steps.

Thank you,

Pam
