I have a question regarding the blog notification mails for RSS feed emails.
If I navigate to Settings -> Website -> Blog -> Subscriptions I have several toggles I can turn on or off for notification emails, each at different frequencies (instant, daily, weekly, monthly). Turning these on will send out automatic emails with any new blog posts at the desired frequency.
When setting up emails through the Marketing -> Emails tab I am able to choose an external RSS feed as the source for my content. Under the Schedule tab I am able to select from Daily, Monthly, Weekly.
Taking the above two paragraphs into consideration, would setting up a Daily email in the latter be the same as enabling the Daily email in the former? If this is the case, how would one go about setting up an Instant one?
My reason for asking is we plan to use the RSS feeds for specific topics to ensure when users subscribe they are only emailed about content that they are interested in.
From my experience, daily would be the same in both scenarios. Instant is only an option for a HubSpot blog not an external blog - I assume because the system has immediate access to publish data.
Another consideration is that with the instant option you don't have the ability to display more than the most recent published article.
I like daily, weekly and monthly based on subscription preference because they are more predictable in your audience's inbox. AND for weekly and monthly you can include the top x number of recent posts as an ICYMI round up.
Hope this helps sort things out!
Best,
Diana
