Attributing Email Performance in Multi-List workflow

SOLVE

Hi All!,

If I have multiple lists in a workflow that sends an email twice a month, can I determine performance per list? If so, how? Or is building a workflow for each list the best approach?

Thanks in advance for any insight and direction,

F

Attributing Email Performance in Multi-List workflow

Hey @FMalik1, thanks for reaching out! This is a really good question.

Honestly, I would say that building out a separate workflow and separate emails for each list makes the most sense if you need to track list-specific performance. And if the contacts in each list differ enough that they need to live in separate lists, it sounds like you/they would benefit from having group-specific emails that speak to them specifically. Even if you're just straight up cloning the emails and workflows, you'll already be able to get much better visibility into individual audience performance.

If you're not already, I also strongly recommend tracking performance within a HubSpot campaign! If end up creating separate emails and workflows for the list, you can also create a campaign just for them.

Hope this helps!!

I have a similar challenge from a customer query so speaking in hypotheticals.

Use case: I have ONE email and sending to multiple lists as once-offs  OR one email using smart content using multiple lists.    How can I create a report that shows email performance analytics per list? Ideally a chart with lists as rows and each email performance metric has a column.   I've tried using a pivot table in the customer builder with Contacts, Marketing Email and Marketing Email Activities as sources.  Also tried Contacts + Marketing Email Analytics (in Beta).   As Lists are only available in the builder as filters, I think this is simply not possible without exporting and pivoting in Excel.
