Ability to Control Unengaged Contacts List

Occasional Contributor

Hi,

We had a client become added to the unengaged list on Hubspot so she wasn't receiving our marketing emails but wanted to. There's no easy way to control this list backend, so we had to do a messy workaround which looked quite unprofessional - we resent a cloned version of an old email that wasn't excluding unengaged contacts just to her, and asked her to open it.

Hoping Hubspot gives the user great control over things like this in the future!

Thanks

Oli

Hi Oli,

You can always turn off the Hubspot 'Do not send to unengaged contacts' option on all your emails, and instead make your own smart 'Unengaged' list and use that as an exclusion list. Then you have total control of what you consider unengaged. We've done this before where we've agreed with a client a clear definition of what constitutes 'unengaged'.

Of course, it's more fiddly, but it's all in your hands then - plus you can have a "Re-engage" workflow to try and get them back or get rid of them from your contacts entirely Smiley Happy

It would be handy to be able to manually flag contacts the way you suggested though!

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply, and good idea! I'll discuss this with my team and see if we want to implement it.

Thanks

Oli
