Porkbun DNS issue

Hi,
I am currently trying to set up email sending domain with HubSpot. I bought the domain on Porkbun, but HubSpot says that there is smth wrong with DNS records every time. I checked all the possible guides, deleted all current records, but hubspot still says there is an error.

Could you tell me, what should I do in this situation?

Porkbun DNS issue

Hi @amandamurphy202,

It sounds like there might be a misconfiguration with your DNS records in Porkbun. Here are some best practices to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Verify the Correct DNS Records

  • In your HubSpot account, go to Settings > Domains & URLs > Email Sending Domains and check the required DNS records.
  • Compare them with the records added in your Porkbun DNS settings. Make sure they match exactly (including any dots at the end of values).

2. Check DNS Propagation

3. Remove Conflicting Records

  • If there are old SPF, DKIM, or DMARC records, they might interfere. Delete any conflicting records before adding the new ones.
  • Only add one of each record.

4. Use the Correct Record Type

  • Ensure you're adding TXT records where required, and not CNAME or other types by mistake.

5. Porkbun DNS Settings

  • In Porkbun, go to Domains > Edit DNS Records and double-check that the records are saved correctly.
  • If you're using a CDN or proxy service (like Cloudflare), ensure that the records are not being proxied (they should be set to "DNS only").

Once you've checked these steps, try verifying your email sending domain in HubSpot again.

Let me know if you need further help! 😊

Porkbun DNS issue

Hi,
Could you check that the CNAME records in Porkbun match exactly what HubSpot needs. If that doesn't fix it, look for any funky characters in your record, like underscores or hyphens, which Porkbun might not handle right. You can use Dig to see if your DNS changes have actually gone through and are showing up everywhere they should.
Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Harsh
