I'm seeing the same issue. Some of my email sends return normal open rates (above 20%) and then some sends I have will return as little as less than 0%. I can't for the life of me figure out what is going on. I believe it has something to do with many of the shared IPs being blocklisted. The blocklists that they are on won't stop the emails from being sent but I have a hard time beleive that it doesn't impact your ability to land in the inbox. My guess is that the random sends I have that have such bad open rates are coming from those blocklisted IPs but I can't figure out how to prove it.
How long are your emails? If it get's clipped in Gmail then the tracking pixel HubSpot inserts into the end of the email would not be able to run and could result in what looks like low open rates.

how long can the email be? I've notcied my email open rates are all over the place...some in the 30s and then some in less than 1 percent for the same group. I can't figure out what is going on.
Open rates are not always accurately tracked. Privacy features such as those found in Apple mail can alter your rates and not report email opens. What is the action you are expecting people to take from your email? Are your contacts taking that action?
