How to best Monitor your Domain Health for Email Deliverability?

SOLVE

Hello,

Recently the emails we sent via HubSpot are proactively being blocked from sending via Hubspot with a warning, "There was an issue sending your email. This email wasn’t sent."

HubSpot explains this is done to "preserve our sending reputation". However, this issue is now occuring with established customers on reponses to existing email chains.

Is there a way to get an overall health score of our email deliverability? Or some other way to get a sense of the health of our "sending reputation" that we could proactively monitor?

Any best practices around resolving this issue and restoring our ability to send emails would be helpful!

SOLVE

Hi @VPeterson36 yes, email health is based on marketing emails - I apologize for not double checking what type of email you were sending, this was posted in the Marketing & Content discussion and sequences are a Sales tool (a distinction not made by most users and a common mixup here in the community).

To understand the health of your sequences, you'll need to build a report for your sender score.

This idea requests the inclusion of sequences in the marketing email health score to be a more holistic picture, I recommend upvoting and adding your feedback for the product team to review.

To monitor and improve your domain's email deliverability health:

  1. Use Tools: Use tools like Google Postmaster Tools, Sender Score, or MXToolbox to monitor your domain's sending reputation and email health.

  2. Check blocklists: Ensure your domain isn’t on any email blocklists using tools like Spamhaus or Barracuda.

  3. Best Practices: Implement best practices like email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and keep your email list clean by removing inactive or bounced addresses.

  4. Engage HubSpot Support: Reach out to HubSpot for more detailed insights on why emails are blocked and ways to improve your sending practices.

These steps should help you monitor and improve your email deliverability.

Hi @VPeterson36

Monitor your email deliverability health in HubSpot via the "Email Health" tool, ensure domain authentication, regularly clean and segment your lists, optimize email content for engagement, review and resolve blocked emails through HubSpot support, and continuously monitor domain reputation using tools like Google Postmaster to maintain and restore sending reputation.

@VPeterson36 email health is built-in to the marketing email tool, you can learn more about it here.

Once you've had a chance to review the email health score in your account, let us know if you have further questions!

How to best Monitor your Domain Health for Email Deliverability?

SOLVE

Hello Jennifer,

Thank you for your prompt response!

Does this email health feature only apply to leads thats are "Maketing Leads"? Most of my emails are sent via sequences to non-marketing contacts and I send several thousand per month. When I click this dashboard, it shows me that in no month did I meet the minimum number of emails to qualify for the Email Health score assessment. This would only be true if it was only looking for Marketing Contacts.

Can you confirm? If this Email Health score only applies to Marketing Contact emails, is there a way that hubspot can provide data on the overall email deliverability score for our business Domain?

Sorry this is my first time doing this and appreciate your help.
