Email deliverability when sending newsletter vs forum notification emails
SOLVE
I run a niche website which has a regular weekly newsletter with excellent open and click rates. I am about to migrate a forum under my domain, and after the migration forum-related emails such as notification emails, password change emails and points/badges/gamification emails will be sent out as well.
What would be the optimal email setup to ensure that the deliverability and sender rep of these emails is optimized and does not affect each other.
Platforms: Wordpress (STMP Gsuite for forum emails), Getresponse (for weekly newsletter)
Emails that will be sent:
Regular, weekly newsletter
Forum-related notification emails (e.g. new reply to thread, password reset, gamification emails)
e.g. Would the fact that the newsletter comes from Getresponse and the forum emails come from Wordpress (STMP Gmail) be enough to isolate the sender reputations and not affect each other? Or would I need to ensure e.g. the email addresses are different?
We use WP SMTP for sending 1:1 email from WordPress, via Gmail. It's complicated and fiddly but worth the effort. Other more simple ones I've tried haven't worked.
We send newsletters, and automated emails (nurture sequences) from HubSpot.
The important thing – for Gmail, HubSpot or Get Response – is to set up your SPF Records and DKIM in your domain. They are DNS Records that show you've approved and external provider e.g. HubSpot to send emails on your behalf.
