Discrepancy: Email subscription "has opted out of" *VS* Contact property "Opted out of email: ..."
SOLVE
I ran some tests trying to find the exact numbers of unsubscribed contacts from various subscription types, and I noticed some discrepancy between the 2 ways to identifies opt outs.
Question:
When creating a list, should I expect to see the same number of contacts whether I use the "Email subscription" category with the "has opted out of" [my subscription type] VS if I use the contact property "Opted out of email:" [my subscription type]?
Observations:
With a current test, I get the following results:
List #1 -- "Email Subscription" has opted out of [target subscription]: 17 628 contacts List #2 -- "Contact properties" Opted out of email: [target subscription] is any of yes: 17 516 contacts
I am now confued as to if both should always indicate the same number for the same criteria/subscription.
They should indeed match up – I would flag this with HubSpot support in-app directly, via chat or email. I assume it has to do with the difference of a full unsubscribe from all emails vs. just a subscription type. Nevertheless, these numbers should match exactly.
