DNS Verification Issues

SOLVE

Hi there,

I'm having trouble verifying our DNS in order to send emails. Please forgive any misusage of language here, as this is not my area of expertise.

Our IT team has confirmed that DNS was set up properly and a HubSpot support person verified through screenshots and screen share. But HubSpot is still unable to verify. Our IT team said that the DIG command is limited to the first 4 TXT records, and because our DNS entry for HubSpot is not one of the first 4, this is why HubSpot can't "see" the records.

I feel like there has to be some work around for this. But I seem to be at am impasse between both my IT team and HubSpot support. Any solutions?

(We're in the trial now but would be moving to Professional if we can work this out.)

DNS Verification Issues

SOLVE

Hi @TomM2!

I appreciate the insight. This may have led me in the right direction had I not yet found a fix.

Soon after I posted this, I reached out to our DNS provider to see if they had a solution, and they confirmed that the entries were under TXT when they should've been under CNAME. 🙃 Though the screenshot I shared with our IT team said CNAME, I have zero knowledge in this area so hearing them repeatedly say TXT wasn't a red flag for me. Now I know! 🙂 They moved the records from TXT to CNAME and everything is sorted now.

DNS Verification Issues

SOLVE

DNS (Domain Name System) verification issues can arise for various reasons and can affect your ability to access websites, send/receive emails, and perform other network-related tasks. Here are a few common DNS verification issues and potential solutions:

  1. DNS Resolution Failure:

    • Issue: You're unable to access websites or services due to DNS resolution failures.
    • Solution: Verify that your DNS settings are correctly configured. You can use public DNS servers like Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1) to see if the problem is with your ISP's DNS servers. If the issue persists, you might need to troubleshoot further or contact your ISP.
  2. DNS Propagation Delay:

    • Issue: You recently updated DNS records (such as changing web hosting or email providers) and are experiencing inconsistencies in access.
    • Solution: DNS changes can take time to   Twelve 21 Jewelry     propagate across the internet. Wait for 24-48 hours to ensure that the updated DNS records are fully propagated.
  3. DNSSEC Configuration Errors:

    • Issue: DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) validation failures prevent secure communication with websites.
    • Solution: Ensure that your DNSSEC settings are correctly configured on your domain's DNS records. If you're using a DNS provider, check their documentation for DNSSEC setup instructions.............

Hey @RYLeigh there's really a lot less other HubSpot users such as myself can do in this situation, HubSpot support is definitely your best resource for this. I'm surprised they closed the ticket before your issue was resolved tbh!

I might be able to point you in the right direction though, you mention TXT records, am I right in saying that you're trying to setup email sending domains? Or are you setting up page hosting domains?

Would you mind sending on the URL you're trying to connect so I could see where it's connected to please?

If it is email sending domains and you need multiple TXT records, it may be entirely possible HubSpot is not recognising your current configuration, so I definitely would recomend drilling HS support a little but more about this to try get your issue resolved (It's annoying to have to be so persistent I know, but it seems to be the only way support issues get resolved these days).
