Create an Automated List that Removes Customers that Opted Out of Emails

Is there a streamlined approach to remove contacts that have opted out of emails (and unsubscribes) automatically using active lists?

SOLVE

Hi @PYoganathan,

 

HubSpot excludes these contacts from email sends automatically, both contacts that opted out of all communication and contacts that unsubscribed from specific subscription types.

 

If you want to be on the safe side (although there really isn't any need to), you could always include these criteria in your active lists or work with exclusion lists ("Recipients" tab of your email).

 

These would be the contact properties to filter for in your active (exclusion) list:

 

  • Unsubscribed from all email: indicates that the current email address has opted out of all email from the account.
  • Opted out of email: [email type name]indicates that the current email address has opted out from emails of the specified type.
