Chrome and Edge Email Client - What they are and why Chrome fluctuates

DarrenTheThird
Member

Historically, we usually see less than 5% or less opens on the Chrome 'email client'.

However, recently, we've also seen the introduction of Microsoft Edge (around 15%) in our reporting.

And we also see occassonal spikes on Chrome - where the OR jumps to over 50%

What exactly does Chrome and Edge cover - Gmail and Outlook are already pulled out separately in the reporting.

And why does it occassionally have massive jumps / spikes in opens on Chrome - even though the sending list hasn't changed with emails before / after which have less than 5%?

I'd love to know the answer to this too.  Did you get any insight?

That's a real pity, thanks for letting me know.

Great question @DarrenTheThird and good call making it its own thread. Hopefully a product manager sees it and can shed some light on how HubSpot code distinguishes the differences.

Did my answer help? Please "mark as a solution" to help others find answers. Plus I really appreciate it!

I use all tools available to help answer questions. This may include other Community posts, search engines, and generative AI search tools. But I always use my experience and my own brain to make it human.
