I'm here today to ask for some insights and benchmark for other companies on Double Opt In. We implemented the function this monday and we wanted to know which is a good DOI rate! So far (with 3 days of DOI on) we have 40 - 42% rate of people who has accepted the double opt in and are eligible to receiving our emails.
Does anyone use this feature for a long time? Can you share some of your rates? And if my rates are low, do you have any sugestions to improving them?
Great question! I'm managing a few HubSpot portals and the email confirmation rate is between 65% and 90% depending on the industry and content offered.
As far as tips go, I'd recommend the following:
use a super-clear email subject line that signals that the process isn't completed yet (e.g. "Almost there, please confirm your email address")
wherever possible, contextualize the double opt-in email copy (if it's for an event, say "You're registration is almost complete, please confirm...")
on your thank you pages or in-line form thank yous, don't suggest that the process is complete (a "Thank you for your interest!" actually does suggest so, instead I'd suggest "Hold up a minute, before we can send you...")
Hope this helps!
