(Submissions closed) — HubSpot.Extend() Call for Speakers

resolver

We've evolved Developer Day into HubSpot.Extend()– HubSpot's flagship conference built for developers. If you’re building, customizing, integrating, and developing on HubSpot, this conference is for you—streaming right into whatever space you call your office October 27.

As our HubSpot developer community grows, we’re looking to spotlight members in five 5-minute lightning talks. That's where you come in! To showcase our global community, developers from all over the world are invited to submit an entry.

What We’re Looking for

HubSpot.Extend() lightning talks are 5 min long pre-recorded videos sharing what, why, and how a particular HubSpot solution was built. Dazzle the HubSpot world by sharing your unique integration.

Whether you’ve just started building on HubSpot or have years of experience creating great HubSpot experiences for customers, we want to hear from you. For our inaugural HubSpot.Extend(), we’re most excited about showcasing how you’ve customized HubSpot to meet a customer need – CRM customization, creative uses of our APIs, out of the box thinking and projects that truly showcase the breadth of possibilities that HubSpot provides will be given priority.

We’re especially excited to feature community members that we may not have heard from before – particularly if you consider yourself to be underrepresented in tech and the HubSpot developer community.

Talks should focus on providing impact, and giving the viewer something they can do after. Talks should avoid direct promotion of the presenters' product, or service.

All talks must be conducted in English and will be pre-recorded. If selected, you’ll also be asked to sign a standard waiver allowing us to use your talk materials in promotional content.

Some topic buckets we think may work:

  • Solutions built to scale
  • Solutions leveraging CMS + API, or API alone
  • Unique first of kind uses of HubSpot

Important Dates

Wednesday, August 10: CFP Open

Friday, August 19: CFP Closed

Wednesday, August 24: Speakers selected and contacted

Wednesday, Sept 7: Slides due

Friday, September 9: Slide feedback delivered (from HubSpot)

Friday, September 16: Recordings Due

October 27: Session w/ live Q and A

Selection process

We’re looking for that magic mix of new ideas, developer and customer value, and unique perspectives. If you’ve built something that has solved developer or customer pain in an innovative way, we want to hear about it! Previous Community Lightning talks we’ve loved:

Here are our legal guidelines that will help you craft your talk within the proper content guardrails.

Sample Submission

What is your proposed talk title or topic?

Make it personal with HubSpot Membership Functions

Please describe your idea in more detail.  Please clearly state: technologies that will be covered, purpose of the talk (problem and its solutions, etc.), target audience, and what the audience will learn by the end of your talk.

Websites can no longer be just digital brochures to be successful. Websites need to be fast, clear, and unique to grab visitors' attention. They need to provide visitors with a memorable experience through dynamic and interactive content. One of the best ways to do that is to serve curated content via profile pages unique to each visitor. By connecting your CRM to your site, you can deliver enhanced experiences to the user while creating more insights to inform your business. HubSpot membership functions allow you to do just that. Memberships enable users to access specific content based on their CRM record.

In this lighting talk, AJ & Jon will show you how to implement membership functions. It will cover the concepts and implementation of contact custom properties to identify subscribers, workflows to create new subscribers, active member lists to manage subscribers, and finally, dynamic routing to private content. See a real-world demo of memberships in action on the Sprocket Co site with profile pages and tailored content.

Code of Conduct

All speakers and attendees must abide by our event Code of Conduct — and your content must abide by it as well.
