New limits on Developer Test Accounts starting 12/19/2022

The following information was sent in an email back on November 17th, 2022 to users with developer test accounts about the following upcoming changes.

Effective December 19th, 2022 the following changes will go into effect:

New publishing limits:

  • Blogging tools: 1 Blog with up to 100 posts
  • Landing pages: 20
  • Web site pages: 25

New test email sending limits:

You’ll be able to send test emails to only email addresses for users in the test account.

Why is HubSpot making these changes?

These changes will help verify that developer accounts are used for their designed purposes only: testing functionality and integrations. This includes maintaining high email deliverability for both HubSpot and our customers.

Sending marketing emails to email addresses not associated with your accounts can increase the risk of them being flagged as spam. This can negatively impact sender reputation and increase the risk that future emails from your domain may also be flagged as spam.

If you have any questions, please visit the HubSpot Help Center.

What if the total number of pages you’ve already published exceeds the new limits?

After December 19th, 2022, you’ll be unable to create new pages or edit existing pages until your page count is within the limit. For example, if you have 100 website pages published and you want to either edit existing pages or create new pages, you’ll need to delete pages until your total page count is less than (or equal to) 25.

What if someone needs to create more than one blog to test an integration?
Is it possible to set a limit of 4 blogs with 25 posts each?

Hi @RomanGruit,

There are two options we can recommend in this case:

1. You could leverage 4 dev test accounts to test each of the 4 blogs and their subsequent blog posts (up to 100 blog posts in each dev test account). I understand this may not be ideal, but it's one option with the new limits.

2. You could leverage CMS Sandboxes to test out your integration since this option gives you access to CMS enterprise limits for blogs & posts. One thing to keep in mind is that CMS sandboxes do not grant a user the ability to connect domains but users are able to test and preview CMS pages with no problem.

Hope this helps!
