Ending Support for HubSpot CLI Versions Below 6.0.0

This is a reposting of the HubSpot developer changelog - which is the source of truth if anything in this forum post differs from that posting.

We will be officially ending support for all HubSpot CLI versions below 6.0.0. This will improve security, reliability, and compatibility with our developer platform and other developer tooling for our developer community.

What's Changing?

Starting October 1, 2025, HubSpot CLI versions older than 6.0.0 will be marked as deprecated in npm.

  • Installation of Older Versions: If you attempt to install a CLI version below 6.0.0, you will receive a notification indicating that it is an unsupported version. While you will be notified, we will not block the installation.
  • Functionality Over Time: Be aware that commands in versions prior to 6.0.0 of the CLI may cease to function correctly as we continue to update our platform and APIs.
  • Recommended Action: To ensure continued access to all CLI features, bug fixes, and security updates, we strongly encourage all developers to update to the latest version of the HubSpot CLI. You can update your CLI by running the following command in your terminal: npm install -g @hubspot/cli

When is it happening?

This change goes into effect on October 1, 2025.
