Developer Identity Status of Marketplace Apps now live
Back on October 22nd, 2020 we announced the availability for developers to be able to identify themselves and their apps to users by adding a verified domain. In that same post, we also announced that users would start seeing this identity status of apps listed in the Marketplace come January 25th, 2021.
Today, we are rolling this out and will begin warning users installing off-marketplace apps without verified domains. We will also be informing users installing off-marketplace apps with verified domains that HubSpot has not reviewed them.
You can see samples of what these warnings will look like and learn more about verifying your identity by visiting our developer identity page on our developer documentation.
To become a provider, you simply need to create an asset marketplace provider account (link for the signup is in the docs above). Marketplace provider accounts come with a free version of the CMS (the only caveat being you cannot connect a domain to the account).
If you have any additional questions, please let me know! I also encourage you to join our developer slack as we have a channel in there dedicated to the marketplace where you can ask questions as well 🙂
To launch products on MarketPlace, do I need to hire only the CMS?
I want to start developing themes and modules for MarketPlace, but I don't want to depend on the company I work for. So I would think about doing it for myself. Would you need to hire only the CMS?
